2011 PLTW Counselor Conference
The University of Iowa College of Engineering will be hosting the 2011 Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Counselor Conference
- DATE: Tuesday, November 15, 2011
- PLACE: Holiday Inn, 1220 First Avenue, Coralville, Iowa
- TIME: 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- COST: $30, which includes lunch; parking is free

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Coralville for this event. You can either call 1-800-Holiday or direct at 1-319-5049 and ask for the “Project Lead The Way Counselor Conference” block. Iowa PLTW Virtual Student Symposium (VSS)
Iowa Project Lead The Way would like to thank the 2010 Iowa PLTW Virtual Student Symposium participants for their interest and exceptional enthusiasm for the fields of science, technology, mathematics and engineering. This year, in light of funding limitations and in an effort to push “green” initiatives, students showcased their Project Lead The Way projects and competed in a virtual arena. The entries displayed a true understanding of engineering principles, innovative thinking, and the importance of teamwork. The critical thinking skills and leadership abilities shown in the projects will be critical in tackling the challenges we will face in the future.

We are pleased to announce that again this summer we will be offering PLTW Summer Core Training Institutes here in the state of Iowa. Training will be offered both at The University of Iowa and at Iowa State University. Please hold the following dates:
Session #3: Tuesday, July 5 – Friday, July 15, 2011 **

- Introduction to Engineering Design™
Session #4: Sunday, July 17 – Friday, July 29, 2011
The University of Iowa, Iowa City- Principles of Engineering™
- Biotechnology Engineering™
- Civil Engineering and Architecture™
** To accommodate the July 4th holiday, Session #3 will begin on Tuesday, July 5th.Tuesday’s attendance will be mandatory and will serve as the travel, orientation and software loading day. Instruction will begin on Wednesday the 6th. Wednesday through Friday, and Monday through Thursday will serve as 9 hour days. This will allow the CTI to conclude at noon on the final Friday.
